What is real estate wholesaling?
We traditionally like to think of real estate investing as someone buying a house that needs fixing up, doing the repairs and then reselling it to an interested family.
Wholesalers are folks who just take on the very first step. An investor will find a distressed property and put it under contract using an “option agreement” or a “purchase and sale agreement.” These allow the wholesaler to then market the property to other investors interested in fixing it up.
For very little or no cash investment, the wholesaler makes a modest profit on selling the distressed house to a motivated buyer, who fixes it up and re-sells it.
