Putting Family First
Sharon Borowski was helping care for her long-time love, Marty Rogus, when he fell ill. No longer able to care for himself or his property, Rogusmoved out of his childhood home that he lived in for 60 years. While Borowski was by his side, Rogus needed her to sell the house to help pay for his medical care. With mounting bills and little time, Borowski needed to find a quick, reliable solution to list the property and get it sold.
Taking care of her significant other meant Borowski didn’t have time to waste trying to sell it. She had learned from friends about HomeVestors and was hopeful based on their positive experiences that they may be able to help her.
“I was having so many problems with my better half because he was so ill. I needed to sell the house fast so I could focus on what really mattered,”she said.
Mike Tassone, a Chicago-based franchisee of HomeVestors, came out quickly to see if he could be of assistance.
“Mike was so wonderful. Since I was trying to take care of my significant other, Mike came to my home to talk about the house, instead of making me run around to meet him,” said Borowski.
“It’s hard enough taking care of your loved ones when they are sick but selling their lifelong home on top of that – that makes it much more difficult,” said Tassone. “It was important that we make this as easy and quick as possible, one less thing off a very full plate.”
Borowski only expected to sell the house but her experience with Tassone went above and beyond. “Anything I asked him to do, he did it,” commented Borosski. “He bent over backwards and then some.”
“Anytime we can take the burden off a family to sell their home, it means a lot to us. We know how important family is and how difficult it is to balance everything,” said Tassone. “We are so happy we were able to help Sharon get the house sold for her and her better half.”
“I would absolutely recommend HomeVestors – especially Mike – to anyone that find themselves in a similar situation to me,” said Borowski. “I had a great experience and was very happy with the outcome.”
